About Dr. Samson

Dr. Samson is a licensed psychologist with fifteen years of experience who uses evidence-based treatments to provide individual therapy interventions to children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her Master’s and Psy.D. degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her child and adolescent-focused pre-doctoral internship at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, splitting her time between an outpatient mental health clinic and an inpatient treatment center.

 

​​Immediately following graduate school, she worked on two multi-site clinical trials at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, providing cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to children and adolescents with anxiety and tic disorders.

 

For the next nine years, she worked full-time providing individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults at Alvord, Baker, and Associates, a group private practice in Rockville, Maryland. 

 

Currently, Dr. Samson sees clients through telehealth and in her Bethesda, Maryland, private practice. 

 

In addition to maintaining her full-time private practice, she provides CBT case consultation and supervision to first and second-year psychiatry fellows at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

 

Dr. Samson was a contributing author for Exposure Therapy for Treating Anxiety in Children and Adolescents, a comprehensive practical guide for implementing exposure therapy, published in 2018.
