Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Anxiety Disorders and Depression
CBT Triangle.png

Our clinicians primarily use a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach in their work with children, adolescents, and adults. This intervention involves teaching the client a new set of skills (e.g. body relaxation, thought challenging and replacement, gradual and repeated exposure to feared stimuli) to help them challenge and modify dysfunctional thinking and behavior. This approach is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders including social phobia, generalized anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, agoraphobia and other phobias (e.g., dogs, heights, needles, insects), as well as ADHD and body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania (hair-pulling) and excoriation (skin picking).
